Project Details

Centrals’ was contracted to complete the civil works associated with the installation of a new Primary Crusher and associated fixed underground infrastructure at the Ernest Henry Underground Mine.

The following works were completed:

  • Mobilisation to site including completion of all necessary inductions for personnel, establishment of all construction plant, equipment, buildings, facilities and personnel necessary for the performance of the works
  • Setting out and survey control of the work from permanent survey marks established by the client
  • Control and removal of ground and other water into the work area, up to a maximum of 20 litres per second
  • Secondary ventilation within the construction area
  • Design and installation of temporary works as required i.e. formwork
  • Cranage and transportation of civil associated materials from laydown yards to the construction fronts
  • Scratch back and blow-off of the floor areas back to rock, as per the client’s procedures and disposal of excavated materials as directed by the client
  • Blinding and mass fill concrete placement to prepared surface
  • Supply and installation of formwork and reinforcement for ground slabs, foundations, walls, pedestals, beams, suspended slabs etc.
  • Installation of client-supplied embedded steelwork including cast in rails, cast in plates, sleeves, spools and conduits as detailed on the IFC drawings
  • Civil works; supply and installation of all concrete works including minor excavation, preparation, formwork, reinforcement and embedments including conduits, slabs, plinths, footings, pedestals, walls, beams, foundations, rock anchors and rock bolts
  • Supply and installation of hold down bolts, earth bonds and other miscellaneous embedment items not supplied by the client
  • Installation and testing rock bolts, ground anchors etc.
  • Access provision via scaffold, mobile platforms etc.
  • Placement of client-supplied concrete at workfront (chute/line pump etc.)
  • Testing including concrete testing and hydrostatic testing of horizontal dams
