Project Details

The Christmas Creek Ancillary Plant civil works for Fortescue Metals Group consisted of the construction of concrete footings, including detailed excavation, civil and drainage works, to support the screens, crushers, conveyors and associated infrastructure supplied and installed by MLG. The work included:

  • Supply and installation of concrete, including batch plant mobilisation and establishment
  • Survey, set out and compilation of as constructed information
  • Formation of general site, local and detailed drainage
  • Formation of two (2) drainage ponds and associated drainage swales
  • Load haul and placement of free-issue rock armour, sourced from nearby stockpiles, to swales
  • Stockpile of any surplus material onsite
  • Detailed excavation works and compaction testing
  • Formwork to foundations and ground slabs
  • Scheduling, delivery and installation of reinforcing bar and dowel bars
  • Installation of free-issue hold down bolts
  • Supply and installation of dowel bars and general construction materials
  • Removal of all waste materials
  • Mobilisation, servicing and demobilisation of all plant and equipment
  • Progressive completion of works, to enable MLG access to commence crushing plant installation works in parallel
  • Installation of the cast in anchor frames, including cranage, for the rock breaker
  • Setting out and installation of the holding down bolts including post installation survey to crushing plant equipment only
  • Trenching excavation, placement of bedding sand, placement of electrical and communications conduit, marker tape and backfill
  • Provision of as constructed data
